This hanging Galileo thermometer is the ONLY ONE that uses colored glass instead of colored liquid (which fades under direct sunlight). This feature means our Blue, Amber and Clear orbs will never fade, while the competitions will! This 2025 product update features dual temperature tags showing both Fahrenheit and Celsius as well as a redesigned hanging frame. We have removed all of the plastic pieces that were found on our previous metal hanging frame and replaced it with 100% metal parts (unlike the competition). Also, our model includes a hanging bracket (a $12 value) for free!
What is a Galileo Thermometer and how do I read it?
A Galileo Thermometer is a sealed glass column containing multiple liquid filled orbs. As the temperature changes, these orbs rise and fall to indicate the current ambient temperature (within the range of 60?F/16?C - 96?F/34?C. Under normal conditions, the orbs will separate into two groupings. To read the thermometer, you must observe the lowest orb within the top group. The temperature imprinted on the tag of that lower orb will be the current temperature of the liquid (within 2?F/1?C accuracy). If all of the orbs are at the bottom, the liquid is hotter than the maximum temperature and if all the orbs are the top, it is hotter. This item is finished with a hand process that creates a varying finished height, which may be slightly higher or shorter than the stated height.
How does it work?
Inspired by the finding of Galileo Galilei, these high quality glass thermometers demonstrate how temperature affects density and buoyancy. Each glass orb is partially filled with liquid to achieve a precise weight. A metal counterweight for each temperature is hung from the bottom of the orbs. As the temperature changes, the density of the liquid inside each orb changes, causing it to rise or fall within the column. Each thermometer is individually calibrated to achieve an accuracy of 2��F/1��C.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS PRODUCT: Your sealed Galileo thermometer is filled with a common mineral-based, ozone friendly solvent (paraffin oil) to prevent bacterial growth. In case of breakage, keep away from any ignition sources as it is highly flammable. Ventilate area immediately and absorb the liquid with disposable towels. Wash hands with soap and water. Potential eye irritant! In case of ingestion contact your local poison control center immediately. Be sure to use care when cleaning to avoid injury. This item requires no special disposal procedures and is made entirely of Earth friendly materials!

Return Window
Return requests must be lodged within 14 days of delivery. Items should be unworn and unused, sent back in their original packaging with all tags still fixed. Any product showing wear, damage, or alterations will not be accepted.

To begin a return, email us with your order number and the reason for returning the item. Once granted, we will email return shipping instructions. Unauthorised returns may be refused.
Damaged or Incorrect Items

Exchanges

Refunds
After we receive and inspect your returned product, we will email you an update. If your refund is approved, the amount will be returned to your original payment method. Refund processing may take up to 7 business days from the date of approval. Items that do not meet our return rules may not receive a refund.
